Cut-Insert
In this project, the surrounding buildings are very close to the site. The existing office building to the north of the site is to be connected to the new one. The proposed new building would serve as a multi-purpose space for the existing office building.
Two methodologies are applied in this design: cutting and inserting, which satisfy two opposite demands respectively. The cut creates public space for the neighbors while inserting volumes creates connectivity. Thus, the building could benefit both the users and the city.
