Restriction-Freedom
The footprint of this kindergarten is tight due to the squeeze of the residential buildings around it. There is not much space to create a low-rise building for the children to interact with nature. Instead, the 'L' shape building is shaped by the cramped site. Thus, terraces become expedient and spatial diversity is the key issue to address. The 'L' shape building is cut so the outdoor spaces on different levels are visually connected, thus children are linked together via the visual connection.
