Order From Disorder

This is a facade design project because the structure has already been given. This is a mix-use building, the lower part is for HYATT PLACE hotel and the higher part is for condominium, which makes the floor heights quite different on each floor level. The condominium part uses split-type air conditioning which is obvious on the facade. Unifying all these functions and make it an integrated building is the goal to achieve.

Since the story heights are quite complicated, vertical structures are used to mask all those discrepancies, making it an integrated building. By using constantly changing aluminum blocks outside the air conditioning to create a dynamic pattern, the disadvantage of the inevitable air conditioning parts is turned into an advantage.

People's behavior inside the room has been studied. In order to provide the best view, the size of fixed glass is maximized with two smaller operable windows on two sides. The horizontal mullion in the middle is also eliminated, so people's views won't be blocked while they are seated.
